Clothing in the Empire

Jump to navigation Jump to search

Clothing in the Empire is diverse and borrows from many different cultures. Clothing typically changes and varies between regions and between classes. The most basic composition of an outfit within the Empire borrows from the Jenő family of tribes, where both males and females will utilize a chiton. Males will often have shorter sleeves and have it knee-length, while also utilizing a chlamys. Females will also wear a chiton with a zone, and never use a chlamys. Female chitons also have longer sleeves and go down to ankle-length. Certain cultures, most notably the Sivatag and Csongrád-Mórahalom subgroups include the use of a veil for practical, symbolic or religious purposes. This basic composition is not often used within the Imperial North or the Imperial South due to the harsher climate conditions. Clothing is viewed as extremely important within society as an identification to gender and status, as well as identity to a tribe. Religious garments and noble clothing often stand out and are made distinctive using rare or difficult-to-obtain materials.
