Colours of Love is the second studio album of Juznik singer-songwriter Daina Venskutė. The album was released through Velvet Records on May 11, 2018. Venskutė co-wrote and co-produced the album with the producer of Blurred Image, Giedrius Antanavičius, as well as Arūnas Pölzl and Sonata Songailienė. The album debuted at number one on the Juznik album charts and held that position for 6 weeks.

Colours of Love, like Venskutė's prior album Blurred Image, received acclaim from critics. It's first single, Wild Butterfly, reached number two on the Juznik singles charts and received similar critical praise being called "Venskutė's best song yet". The second single, Fascination, was released on 13 July and peaked at number one on the Juznik singles chart, holding the position for two weeks and becoming Venskutė's first number one single.

Background

Venskutė began work on the album shortly after the release of her debut album, Blurred Image. She stated that her major inspiration for the album was her "intensifying relationship with [her] now-husband, Pranas". Work on the album intensified after her marriage to Pranas Jankūnas in July 2016. Venskutė continued writing songs for the album throughout late 2017 and early 2017 stating that she "found inspiration in getting used to life as a married woman".

The recording of the album began in August 2017 at the studio of Giedrius Antanavičius in Višnevas. Venskutė started working with two well-known Juznik folk producers, Arūnas Pölzl and Sonata Songailienė, who had a role in writing and producing some of the songs alongside herself and Antanavičius. Venskutė said that the four "became like a little family always coming to the table with new ideas and new ways to do things" saying that "we'll be friends for life after this".

Commercial performance

Colours of Love debuted at number one on the Juznik albums chart selling 67,000 copies in one week, the largest debut of 2018. It occupied the top spot for 5 more weeks selling 203,000 copies during that time. By the end of 2018 it had sold 420,000 copies in Juznia, making it Venskutė's best-selling album. The album sold 150,000 copies outside of Juznia primarily in Hytekia, Tudonia and Dulebia.
