Concordian Ship Naming Conventions

Concordian Ship Naming Conventions are a set of conventions that dictate the naming process for ships in commission in the Concordian Armed Forces. As per the Military Standardisation Act of 2341, the naming conventions are only applied onto class names.

Conventions

Dreadnoughts

Dreadnoughts (DN) are named after concepts of power and bravery. Examples: Invictus-class Dreadnought and Valiant-class Dreadnought

Battleships

Battleships (BB) are named after famous military commanders in history. Examples: Zhukov-class Battleship and Rommel-class Battleship

Carriers

Carriers (CV) are named after famous battles in history, but Assault Carriers (CVA) are named after famous military assaults and attacks in history. Examples: Leyte Gulf-class Carrier and Normandy-class Assault Carrier.

Cruisers

Cruisers, both light and heavy (CL and CA respectively) are named after types of warriors and fighters. Examples: Knight-class Heavy Cruiser and Spartan-class Light Cruiser

Frigates

Frigates (FF) are named either after bladed weapons or stars. Examples: Sirius-class Light Frigate and Sabre-class Heavy Frigate

Battlestations

Battlestations (BS) are named after mythological or religious events and objects. Examples: Ark-class Battlestation and Exodus-class Battlestation.

Support Ships

Support ships (SV) are named after their intended purpose. Examples: Hospitality-class Medical Ship and Helping Hand-class Repair Ship
