The Constitutional Democratic Party (Volynian: Ⰽⱁⱀⱄⱅⰻⱅⱆⱍⰵⱄⰽⰻ Ⰴⰵⰿⱁⰽⱃⰰⱅⰻⱍⰵⱄⰽⰻ Ⱂⰰⱃⱅⰻⱑ tr. Konstitúčeski Demokratíčeski Pártija), referred to simply as the Kadets (Volynian: Ⰽⰰⰴⰵⱅⰻ tr. Kadeti) is the oldest active and longest serving political party in Poliania. Founded in 1869, the Kadets have dominated the political scene of the nation, ruling from 1870 through 1913 and again from 1940 to 2008. Following the 2015 elections, the Kadets once again gained a majority in both houses of the Veche. Because of this, the Kadets are sometimes referred to as Poliania's "natural governing party."
The party is defined as a catch-all party and attracts support from a broad spectrum of voters. It espouses liberal conservative and economic liberal ideals, although internal factions include national conservatism and Sotirian democracy. This makes the party sit center to center-right on the Polianian political spectrum, although the party considers itself to be radical centrist. Under the Kadets, Poliania saw the decriminalization of homosexuality in 1974, the legalization of same-sex marriage in 2008, legalization of abortion in 1981, expansion of social welfare programs, and legalization of cannabis for medical use in 2019.
The leader of the Kadets is Ilijana Valčeva, who has held the position since 2006. The party is an observer of Alliance of Conservatives and Democrats for Euclea, a Euclean parliament political party. In addition to this, the Kadets are a member of the League of Democrats.
