The Costa Mejian Armed Force (Mejian: Fuerzas Armadas de Costa Mejis) is the combined forces of the ground air and naval forces of the Kingdom of Costa Mejis. The Costa Mejian Armed Forces are tasked with guaranteeing the sovereignty and independence of Costa Mejis, defending its territorial integrity and the constitutional order of the nation as defined by the Decreto de Derechos del Pueblo del Rey, more commonly referred to in Costa Mejis Decreto del Rey (King's Decree).

The Costa Mejian Armed Forces consist of the the Royal Mejian Army and Royal Mejian Armada. The nation's air force remains part of the Royal Army and is known as the Royal Mejian Army Air Corps (Cuerpo Aéreo Real del Ejército Mejian). The Royal Mejian Armada also has dedicated aviation assets organized into the Costa Mejian Naval Aviation (Aeronáutica Naval) as well as boasting a small contingent of naval infantry (Infantería Naval Real de Mejian)

In addition, the Costa Mejian Civil Guard (Guardia Civil) operates as the national gendarmerie of Costa Mejis, with authority across the nation and its territories. It is organized as a military police force and reports to both the Office of National Defense and the Office of Internal Affairs

Lastly, the Costa Mejian Armed Forces maintain a single brigade known as the Royal Guard (Guardia Real). It is not considered a separate branch of the armed forces, and is directly royal to the monarch of Costa Mejis, responsible for the protection of the sovereign, their family, and the royal estates.

Branches

Army

The Royal Mejian Army consists of 20 brigades (10 active and 10 reserve) with over 27 thosuend active duty personel and a total manpower of 118,2000 personal. These brigades consist of a mix of mechanized or motorized infantry, armor, air assault and airborne infantry, and a small contingent of special operations forces organized into independent battalions. Each brigade has organic support elements, including air defense, reconnaissance, artillery and logistic.

Air Force

The Royal Mejian Army Air Corps is organized into ten wings of aircraft, each consisting of 3 squadrons of 12 aircraft, as well as formations of various sizes of support aircraft, such as aerial reconnaissance, electronic warfare, airborne early warning and control and aerial refueling. The mission of the Army Air Corps is primarily providing tactical close air support to Royal Army forces in contact with the enemy, interdiction and tactical strike behind enemy lines, and providing both tactical and strategic airlift for the Royal Army. These assets are also sometimes utilized to support Royal Armada missions as well to supplement the less capable Royal Mejian Naval Aviation.

Navy

The Royal Mejian Armada is the maritime branch of the Costa Mejian Armed Forces and one of the oldest active naval forces in the world. It is tasked with defending the coastal integrity of the nation as well as protecting Costa Mejian interests abroad, including defense of trade routes and shipping lanes and the vessel that use them. The Royal Mejian Armada is comprised of 72 ships; the flagship of the Armada is the BRM Agustín V, a Soberano-class amphibious assault ship. In addition, the Royal Mejian Armada is comprised of;

Naval Infantry

The Royal Mejian Naval Infantry, often referred to as simply the Naval Infantry (Infantería de Marina) and sometimes as Marines, is the naval infantry unit of the Royal Mejian Armada as is responsible for conducting amphibious warfare operations by utilizing naval platforms and resources. The Royal Mejian Naval Infantry is fully integrated into the Royal Armada's structure. The Royal Mejian Naval Infantry consists of two brigades of combat forces and is 14,000 men in total strength. There are no reserve naval infantry formations. Having been formed in 1531 by Agustín V as the Ship's Guard (Guardias de Barcos) it is one of the oldest marine corps in the world. Costa Mejis is one of several nations which continues the practice of stationing contingents aboard every vessel of the Royal Armada when deployed from port. These shipboard Marines are charged with a variety of duties, including maintaining order aboard the vessel, operating the vessel's brig, acting as shore patrols when the ship is in port and the crew has been given liberty, boarding vessels and repelling enemy boarders and acting as a personal security detail for the vessel's captain and senior officers, as well as other duties. When not preforming these duties, they are usually assigned to preform a function board the ship, such as acting as gunners mates, mess attendants, or preforming labor and maintenance.

The size of a Naval Infantry contingent will vary depending on the vessel, and can be anywhere from 12 to 50.

Naval regulations require at least one officer of the vessel's marine contingent be aboard at all times unless directly excused by the ship's captain. In addition, Royal Armada traditions state that there can not be more than one "Capitán" aboard a vessel. If the commander of a Marine contingent is a marine "Capitán", or O-3, he would be addressed as "Comandante", the next highest commissioned rank, in all social situations, as it would be a breach of protocol and tradition to refer to any person but the vessels commander as "Capitán" while aboard a vessel. This restriction would not apply when ashore and is largely ignored when Naval Infantrymen are addressing one another out of the vessels captain's presence.

Naval Aviation

Royal Mejian Naval Aviation is comprised of a single wing of combat aircraft dedicated to preforming maritime strike duties to defend the coasts of Costa Mejis from amphibious invasion as well as to supplement the Royal Armada's surface force in defeating enemy naval forces attempting to establish a naval blockade of the nation. Further, the Royal Mejian Naval Aviation possess two wings of maritime patrol aircraft to be used for maritime reconnaissance, antiship and anti-submarine warfare as well as search and rescue.

Civil Guard

The Costa Mejian Civil Guard operates as the national gendarmerie of Costa Mejis, with authority across the nation and its territories. It is the oldest law enforcement agency in the nation. As part of its daily duties, the Civil Guard patrols rural areas, inter-provincial motorways, as well as all points of entry into the nation, such as ports, harbors, and airports. In addition, the Civil Guard investigates crimes within the aforementioned areas, whilst the National Police (Policía Nacional) deals with safety in urban situations. Most cities also have a municipal police force (Policia Municipal) as well, which assists the National Police and carries out day to day law enforcement operations. The three forces are nationally coordinated by the Office of Interior Affairs, specifically the Office of Law enforcement and Justice.

The Costa Mejian Armed Forces maintain a single brigade known as the Royal Guard (Guardia Real). It is not considered a separate branch of the armed forces, and is directly royal to the monarch of Costa Mejis, responsible for the protection of the sovereign, their family, and the royal estates. While the guard does participate in parades and other ceremonial events, it is a fully functional combat unit. Its members are recruited from the ranks of all three branches of the Costa Mejian Armed Forces and receive the same combat training as regular soldiers. Recruits typically come from the Royal Mejian Army and the Royal Mejian Naval Infantry.
