Crime in Westmonwick is relatively low due to the country’s small size, high average incomes and capable law enforcement as well as well as the lack of large numbers of families where crime is the norm.

Street robbery and theft from the person Street robbery is very rare as is theft from the person, though they’re have been documented cases, especially in Millbed.

Organised crime

Organised crime is a concern. Laws against drug trafficking, pimping and brothel-keeping mean these activities are usually undertaken by organised crime groups. This usually leads to violence between gangs and occasionally sexual slavery.

The Azadistani Mafia and Westmonkwick Black Mafia used to be a concern but due to crackdowns from 2021-2022 in the case of the Azadistani Mafia and demographic changes in the case of the Black Mafia these groups are described as “more or less irrelevant” since 2022.

The Azadistani Mafia activities of resolving disputes between criminals, protecting criminals against each other’s cheating or theft (by overseeing and enforcing illegal agreements and transactions) and providing an intermediary between the criminals and the government have been taken over by the Fredericks Firm as, largely, have the drug trafficking, loan sharking, pimping and firearms trafficking of the Black Mafia.

Both groups were involved in money laundering which is now almost a Fredricks Firm monopoly.

Mass plundering by the Cheddingham Casuals occurred in 2022.

Murder

The murder rate is low, 3 to 4 murders per 100,000 people each year. Most murders are motivated by the admission of sexual relations between a married woman and a man other than her husband. Due to cultural attitudes around chivalry, the man is more likely to be murdered than the woman.

Other causes of murders including gangland violence or as retaliation against crimes committed towardsoneself or a family member in some communities (such as Mittelseax Westmonkwicker, Black Westmonkwicker and Mixed Westmonkwicker council tenants, working-class Azadistanis and Munkcestrians).

Murders of tourists are practically unheard of, the last confirmed case was in 2012.

Crimes against women

Crimes against women, including sexual harassment and domestic violence, are proportionately more common than the world average.

Burglary and car theft Burglary, especially of homes, is rare. Commercial burglary are known to happen and there is roughly one domestic burglary a year.

Due to evidence-based policing and target-hardening car theft is less common than the global average.

White collar crime and corruption

White collar crime is rare due to good enforcement as is corruption. Ex-Lord Chancellor Rupert Jackson was impeached and sentenced to two years imprisonment in 2022.
