Cuevo is the capital city of Abunya and has historically been its administrative center since 1281. Prior to 1281, it was the only functioning port city in the Tira Dynasty, which was founded in 1236. In 1703, it became the administrative center of the Protectorate of Abunya, administrated by Hasumin. It was shortly after that it also became the largest city in Abunya, surpassing Bermejo.
