The Department of Education is a federal government department in the Caldan Union with responsibility for administering federal educational policy. In the Caldan Union, education is primarily handled at the provincial level with the federal department providing support and resources, implementing programmes designed to ensure equity, and co-ordinating national research priorities. The minister is François Bouchard and the deputy minister is Ronna Dunleavy.
