The Dinsmar-class were a run of warships built by Pereda Construction, now Pereda Construción Naval Consolidada for the Imperial Navy of Temuair between 1926 and 1946. These vessels, classified as light torpedo cruisers were unique in that they used torpedoes as their primary anti-ship weapon. Over its long years of several, several vessels of this class would be refitted to serve as seaplane tenders, and be reclassified from CLT to AV vessels, carrying 6 seaplanes.

History

In 1951, six Dinsmar-class vessels were refitted to serve as seaplane tenders for the Parada-Vara Parada-Vara L-2 Dardo Mariño seaplane. Refits for two of the vessels, the BNA Honesto and BNA Nobre were conducted at the Mileth Carpinteiro Naval shipyards in Mileth starting in early 1952, and completed in 1954, just prior to the HL-55 being officially accepted into service. The vessels were rechristened the BNA Rubí and BNA Cuarzo respectively to uphold Imperial naval ship name conversions. In 1955, the two selected vessels, the BNA Solais, and BNA Castas were refitted at the Mileth Yards, and rechristened BNA Safira and BNA Perla in 1957.

The vessels saw two of the four original 140 mm Brais Roi Arsenal AN-14 naval cannons removed, though they retained the two quad-mount KFyK 37 anti-aircraft cannons for defense against aircraft. The deck space which formally housed the 10 533 mm torpedo tubes and related equipment was extensively reworked to include hanger facility designed to house up to seven seaplanes, as well as the cranes and other necessary equipment to launch and recover the aircraft.

The L-2 Dardo Mariño was, however, retried from service in 1959, and the four vessels were inactivated ad immediately scrapped.

The other 14 Dinsmar class vessels were retired between 1950 and 1956, the Imperial Navy have determined they were no longer useful in combat.
