Etymology
The name Dixie has its origins in the name the people native to the region gave it during the period of the Dixan Confederation. The people called their land the Land of the Dixans, known in Pre-Old Dixian as l' États du Sud. The origin of the name Dixians is unknown but it has been theorized to mean "Lake People" in reference to the Yoakam Lake which was the primary source of water for the civilization.
