Drinking Age in Greater Meridon

This is a list of nations in Greater Meridon regarding their laws on the legal minimum age for the consumption of alcohol. Alcohol laws are frequently quite complex with many exemptions, exceptions and other loopholes in effect.

Datch Union	None		The Datch Union has no formal drinking age, instead persons are expected to be legally responsible for their own consumption. Consumption of alcohol, or other intoxicants can be an aggravating factor in the punishment of other offenses against the community.
Datchlia	18		The drinking age in the State of Datchlia is 18 years of age. Those accompanied by parents are allowed to consume alcohol at a younger age however, and enforcement is rather lax.
Capisaria	14	16/18 (see notes)	16 for wine/beer, 18 for hard liquor. The Capisarian government lowered the drinking/purchasing age from 18/21 to its current level in 1995 in response to research from University of Donovan students that proved an unhealthy culture towards alcohol existed due to the drinking age being so high, and the safety concerns were deemed to be unfounded due to advances in car safety.
Diamante	18 (noncitizens only)		Consumption of alcohol among Diamnean citizens is illegal on the island, barring certain religious exemptions. Noncitizens may, in certain areas be permitted to consume alcohol, but are forbidden to purchase alcohol on the island.
Dorado	14	16	The age required to legally purchase alcohol is 16, while the age of consumption is 14. Younger persons may consume alcohol if accompanied by a parent. Enforcement of this law is somewhat lax however, given the commonality of much greater crimes.
Göke	18		The legal drinking age in the Gökan Federation is 18, though exceptions for religious ceremony and family gatherings exist.
Illaria	None	18	The legal alcohol purchasing age in Illaria is 18, though persons may consume alcohol at any age.
Lesser Verde	None		There is no legislated age of alcohol to consume alcohol, most stores refuse to sell alcohol to citizens under the age of 16.
Los Cuarzos	None		Consumption of alcohol is entirely legal to all citizens and non-citizens in the Confederacy.
Murmusa	None		Consumption of alcohol is legal for citizens and non-citizens of all ages.
Plata	16	18	The Platan government has made the legal age of consumption 16, and the legal purchasing age 18. Exemptions for religion also exist, and there is no legal minimum drinking age for those in the presence of their parents.
Tallonius	21		The drinking age in Tallonius is 21.
Verde	16	18	The Verdean government has made the legal age of consumption 16, and the legal purchasing age 18. Exemptions for religion also exist, and there is no legal minimum drinking age for those in the presence of their parents.
