The Extended Range Interceptor Weapon Trojan was developed in the early-90s for the Arthuristan Dynamics Cyclone and similar heavy tactical fighters as a replacement of the AIM-54 Phoenix. It was intended as a long range munition which could reach deep into defended airspace and destroy AWAC aircraft or bombers. A thrust-vectoring nozzle is used to increase the missile's maneouverability and maximise the chances of a hit. It has a maximum range of some 400km through the use of a ballistic flight profile. A Cyclone may carry up to six Trojan missiles, although a load of four Trojans plus four ACCM Taipan is more likely.
