The Energy Self Defence Weapon - Pistol - 55 is a Concordian plasma pistol, firing superheated hydrogen plasma that is potent against both armour and energy defenses. As a self defence weapon, the ESDWP-55 is designed as a secondary weapon for front line troops or primary self defence weapon for officers and specialised troops.
Design
The ESDWP-55 is a pistol-grade plasma weapon that packs substantial firepower in a small compact package. The weapon fires in a semi-automatic fire mode with a maximum trigger cap of 750 rounds per minute. It operates through the use of hydrogen gas ammunition cartridges that are ionised by a microfusion cell that creates a bolt of plasma that is electromagnetically accelerated out of the weapon's barrel to a muzzle velocity of over 2000 m/s.
