Eclipse Corps is a Daoan private military company that was established on 1 November 1987. The company was co-founded by Giang Xuân Kiên a former Lieutenant General of the National Guard, and Nguyễn Thành Châu a former officer of the Daobac Special Forces. Eclipse initially began by offerring two types of services: private personal protective services to both public and private individuals, and public security services through the training and deployment of both uniformed and non-uniformed security contractors. Eclipse personnel are generally hired from former members of Daobac Self-Defense Forces though it also welcomes former armed forces members from foreign countries as well. Tran Security acquired Eclipse Corps in 2006 and incorporated it into the larger ecosystem of Tran International. This acquisition gave Eclipse unprecedented access to both funds, manpower, equipment and technologies, effectively transforming the organization into a well equipped professional fighting force. The influx of manpower as well as military grade equipment, obtained from Tran's defense industry, has expanded Eclipse Corps's capabilities to include a combined arms approach towards large scale security deployments as well as supplementing or supporting a national armed forces in internal security roles. In the present day Eclipse Corps is well known for providing both security for private individuals and also This has led many to describe Eclipse Corps personnel as the Tran International's own private army. Throughout its history Eclipse Corps has garnered its fair share of success and controversy. Its largest active and ongoing deployment is in the Kra Insurgency as part of its security contract with Vinh Hang Group, a mining & energy conglomorate based in Da Huang but owned by Tran International.
