The Elatus was a medium tank fielded by the Republic of Syara during the Siduri War.
The Elatus was intended to serve as an infantry support tank to accompany Syaran motorized infantry on the battlefield, providing firesupport with its 47 mm cannon against enemy fortifications and pillboxes. Decently armed and armored, it fit this role well initially, but later struggled to compete with the tank designs fielded by the Common Axis. As tank on tank engagements grew more common, the Elatus had to be continuously upgraded to keep pace, something the design was not well suited to. Among Syaran tankers the design had a mixed reputation; its primary armarment was considered useful for taking on enemy armor and fortifications, but the tank was very cramped and maintenance on the chassis was difficult and tedious.
Around 3,450 units were produced from 1932-1938, serving extensively on the Quenminese Front and the Western Theater.
