Emmanuel Kevin Petru Cojoc (20 August 1864 – 24 November 1927; also known as EPC) was a Moldanian politician and leader of the Conservatory Party during the Great War, being a key figurehead in the Alliance. Cojoc also served as foreign minister prior to his death in 1927. His time in office following the war saw the unification of the Kingdom of Roumania and Cachian Province into Moldanovica.

Biography

Early Life

Cojoc was born in the small town of Ștefănrești in the Sollena Province, he was born the son of Artur Cojoc and Sofia Stefan. He was raised in his fathers manor house which still stands in the town even following the town's bombing during the war. He completed his secondary education at the Saint Neva National College in Sopava (1882). He then volunteered for the Moldanian Army's artillery, serving for six months before becoming a Second lieutenant. During his military service, Cojoc studied engineering. He left for Polácica in 1883, and attended the city College, then took classes (without being a registered student) at the Polácica University (1884–1889). Cojoc received an engineer's diploma, but not a licence to practice.

In 1889, Cojoc returned to Sopava and was assigned orders by the Army, being promoted to Lieutenant. Later in that year, he joined the Moldanian Railways as an engineer.

Early Political Career

In 1895, looking for a new refreshing career path, Cojoc joined the Conservatory Party (Modern Conservator Party) and was elected to Parliament via the electoral college in Munun County. In early 1899, he was in the majority that voted in favor of the entry of former members of the Moldanian Social-Democratic Workers' Party into the CP. In 1897 he was elected Minister of Public Works. In 1899, he was elected head of the National Liberals, a position he was to hold until his death; he first became Prime Minister in January 1900, and kept the office until 28 December 1912.

His actions as prime-minister push the CP towards land reforms and anti-imperialism, which lead to their joining of the Alliance in 1904.
