Emperor Jeremy I of the Allied Castarcian States (born Jeremy Horace Olsen;15 January 1893) was a Duke from the region of Casturonia who is credited with re-uniting the Castarcian counties together once again and formally establishing the Empire of Allied Castarcian States in 1930.

Early Life

Jeremy Olsen was born on 15 January 1893 to Nathaniel and Isabella Olsen, in the city of Port Castarcia, now known as Port Revolution. His mother was a journalist with the Port Post who was well known for her political columns which often criticised the government, whereas his father, a soldier, was an avid Castarcian nationalist who on occasion clashed with his wife on political matters. As a young boy growing up, Jeremy was heavily influenced in his view of society by his mother. When Jeremy was 7, his sister Leona was born and at the age of 13 Jeremy began to attend Empress Jennifer High School in Port Castarcia. Jeremy's father was killed whilst fighting in the First Great War of Atlas in 1908, fuelling his and his mothers hatred of the Castarcian government.

Little is known of Jeremy's education. He had a reputation for paying the utmost attention in classes and going above and beyond what was expected of him by his teachers, attaining the highest possible results. However, outside of the classroom, Jeremy was a controversial young man who frequently found himself in disputes with others - whilst his studies were serious, his social life was not. Attending the University of Pearsonville to study sociology and philosophy in 1911, Jeremy quickly became the President of the Freshman Drinking Club and was involved in 'countless' relationships with women.

Political Activism

Jeremy was heavily engaged in student politics, where his anti-republic sentiments and intense hatred for unnecessary bureaucracy and red tape made him notable. He became nationally recognisable as he was pictured on the front page of the Pearsonville Gazette throwing eggs at members of the Castarcian Nationalist Party as they attended a conference in the city although the brouhaha quickly died down. This incident had the effect of driving a rift between the young Jeremy and his extended family on the paternal side, who viewed what he had done as disrespecting what his late father believed in.
