The following equipment is in the use by the Belfrasian Armed Forces, the Belfrasian Army. The Belfrasian Air Force, Belfrasian Marines, Belfrasian Navy, and The PDF also occasionally use the equipment when and as needed.

Outfittings

This section details how the equipment in the Catalog is utilized by the Armed Forces. Equipment not included here are either not in active use or in use by special forces personnel.

Primary firearm

  • AR9R1 - Used in rifle format by Army and Air Force personnel. Squad Support variant sometimes used but the AR3R1 is favored for that role. Tank and aviation personnel utilize the Carbine and ultrashort variant.
  • AR5R2 - Used by the Royal marines in all formats, most usually in the lower caliber format.

Personnel Weapons:

Melee Weapons

  • The 'Lycos' Combatant Machete was designed by Lyran Arms to serve as a close-combat weapon for troops.
  • The 'Badger' Trench Axe serves as an entrenching tool as well as a close-combat weapon should the occasion call for it.
  • The Model 23 Mattock is a pickaxe designed for military use and currently used by the Belfrasian Armed Forces Engineering teams. Mountaineers often use the Model 23 in conjunction with the Badger.
  • The Model 13 Bayonet is a 7.5 inch bayonet/knife in use by the Belfrasian Armed Forces as a primary combat knife and bayonet for rifles with a muzzle of 22mm.
  • The Model 14 Bayonet is an 11 inch bayonet in use by the Belfrasian Armed Forces.

Sidearms

Submachine gun

  • The Model 15 Personal Defense Weapon is a compact weapon designed for security teams and law enforcement that require a low profile weapon without sacrificing firepower or reliability. The Belfrasian Armed Forces utilise a 9x19mm chambered version for their tank crews as a replacement of the MP5. The lightweight and low profile of the weapon allow it to be safely stowed in the armoured vehicle when not needed, and its firepower allow it to provide protection when needed.
  • The LY47 'Stormhammer' SMG is a compact, large-bore, balanced-automatic, gas-operated, high-lethality, bullpup-configured submachine of Lyran Design and currently used as one of the standard submachineguns by Belfrasian Infantry.

Shotgun

  • The Model 12 Semi-Automatic Shotgun is a weapon used by the Belfrasian Armed Forces for Close-Combat situations. A 18” version is used with a modifable stock.

Rifles/Assault Rifles

  • The LY21 AHLAR is a Lyran Arms rifle-system that uses the 6.3 x 40mm Lyran Caseless round. It is designed to be versatile and rugged and operates with the LY67 Widowmaker. As of late 2013 this weapon has seen little use, a fact attributed to the drastically different calibre of ammunition used.
  • The AR9R1 is a Anemonian Modular weapon system (MWS) that uses the 6.7x47mm Arsenal Standard Anemonian round. As of mid 2012 the Armed Forces maintains a AOPA for this weapon.
  • The AR5R1 is an Anemonian capable of firing the 5.56mm NATO round. It is usually kept in armories and specially used by the PDF or kept aboard naval warships in armories. As of late 2011 the Belfrasian Armed Forces possess Domestic Production Rights for the rifle.
  • The AR5R2 is a modular weapon system that only really shares similarities with its predecessor, the AR5R1, in that its the AR5. As of late 2012 the armed forces maintains an AOPA for the weapon.
  • The AR3R1 was used by the Belfrasian Army from 1993 til the first purchase of the Lyran and Anemonian AHLAR and AR9R1 respectively. Of the 120,000 rifles originally utilised by the Armed Forces, some 98,000 are still in usable condition and utilised by many specialist units requiring a model solid punch that the old weapon provides. In late 2012 the Armed Forces obtained an AOPA to rearm its militia.
  • The Ag 3, an Estovnian built assault rifle, was utilized heavily by the Belfrasian Armed Forces from the mid 1950s till the 1990s.
  • The M1 MASIR is a Parthan designed weapon originally chambered in the 6.8x41MM SPC Remington. Upon purchase of a DPR the rifle was rechambered for the 6.7x47mm Arsenal Standard Anemonian Round.
  • The M1H MASIR is another Parthan designed weapon, this time chambered in the heavier 7.62x51MM NATO round. In order to maintain logistical harmony upon purchase of the DPR for the weapon it was rechambered for the 7.7x54mm Arsenal Standard Anemonian round.

Light/Heavy Machine guns

  • The AR3R1/mod LA was a Squad Support Weapon utilised by the Belfrasian Military from 1993 until they were able to formally replace it with items from Lyras and Anemos. Belfras recently gained an AOPA to this item and use it for the PDF.
  • The MG3R1 is an Anemonian GPMG that utilises the 7.7x54mm Arsenal Standard Anemonian round and produces a rate of fire of 900/600rpm at a range of 1,969 ft (600 m). It uses 120 round containers and as of 2011 the Belfrsian Armed Forces possess a DPR for the weapon which was converted to an AOPA in mid 2012.
  • The Mk 48 machine gun is a machinegun also usd alongside the M249 and the M240 in primary forces.
  • The Model 50 Heavy Machine Gun is a replacement for the M2HB with a Rate-of-fire of 500-650 RPM. The Belfrasian Armed Forces currently utilise the M. 50 on a large scale.
  • The Mk. 19 Grenade Launcher is a belt-fed grenade-launching machine gun that fires 40mm grenades. Its cyclic rate of fire can average 400 rounds per minute although its effective rate of fire rests between 40 to 60 rounds per minute.

Sniper rifles/DMR Rifles

  • The SR10R1 .338 is a ten-round semi-automatic sniper rifle capable of firing the .338 Lapua Magnum round. It is usually used by sniper units or company-level support teams. As of mid 2012 the Belfrasian Armed Forces owns a AOPA for the weapon.
  • The SR10R1 .50 is a ten-round anti-material rifle capable of firing the .7x99mm round. It is usually used by dedicated sniper teams or special forces. As of mid 2012 the Belfrasian Armed Forces owns a AOPA for the weapon.
  • The LY23 'Songbird' 14.7mm Anti-Materiel Rifle is a anti-material rifle capable of firing the 14.7mm x 115mm (14.7 lyran) in five-round detachable box or a ten-round drum.
  • The Accuracy International Arctic Warfare is a 10-round, bolt action weapon capable of firing a wide variety of ammo types from ranges of anywhere from 800 metres (7.62×51mm) to .1,500 metres (.338 Lapua Magnum)
  • The AR3R1/mod sF4 is an Anemonian DMR used by the Mountaineer brigades of the Always-Ready Militia. As of mid 2012 the Belfrasian Armed Forces owns a AOPA for the weapon.

Grenades and Grenadelaunchers

  • The Model 5 Obscurant and Marking Grenade was developed to provide a non-toxic screening, wind speed indication, and signaling device for infantry and other ground or maritime forces. The Belfrasian Armed Forces currently utilises all forms of this grenade.
  • The Model 6 Grenade is a series of grenades which the Belfrasian Armed Forces utilises.
  • The LY1002 'Hellsbreath' Thermobaric Hand Grenade is a variable fuze handgrenade with the killbox of 6 meters and a danger box of 30m.
  • The LY67 'Widowmaker' is a 3-round 40mm grenade launcher by Lyran Arms. It is designed to work both underslung from a Lyran rifle or seperately.
  • The IFAM Granatyr Fusilise, Modelyr 10 is a rifle-grenade system used by the AR9R1. Despite rifle-grenades being somewhat aged these are top-quality and are built for the modern age.

Anti-tank ordnance

  • The RPGR-120 is a 3.8kg reusable Rocket-Propelled Grenade system produced by the New Shunde Arsenal. The Belfrasian Armed Forces maintains a DPR for the product and has introduced it as a standard issue replacement for the RPG and AT4.
  • The Riemakora AB Pvk 14 is an Anti-Tank cannon weighing some 11 tonnes. Because of this it is critical that this Gun is either towed into action, although some heavy-lift helicopters may be able to airlift it.
  • The HIA Airborne Short Rifled Howitzer Series 2 is heavily used by the Belfrasian Armed Forces in both an airborne and infantry capacity. The 325 pound gun allows soldiers to maintain a decent anti-tank or anti-fortification option.

Missile

Mortar (weapon)

  • The H5 light weight 57mm Mortar is a light mortar capable of firing 15 rounds per minute at a range of 3.8km.
  • The H6 90mm medium mortar system is a medium mortar system capable of firing up to 20 rounds per minute. The H6 can fire a standard 6.1kg bomb out to a maximum range of just over 7000m, specialist extended range rounds can increase this to 14km although at the cost of some accuracy. This long range is achieved using both the highly streamlined shells and the notably long barrel of the weapon.
  • The H7 120mm mortar system is a heavy mortar system. The H7 can output a maximum of 12rounds (upto 18rpm with auto loader) per minute for the first minute with an indefinite sustained rate of 4 rounds per minute. In terms of ammunition the H7 can use all NATO compatible 120mm ammunition with a maximum range of 7200-9500m using these types. For more range a selection of specialist ER round are available which take the maximum range out to 10,000m for unassisted projectiles and 15,000 with rocket assisted projectiles.

Artillery

  • The G120 Light weight gun is a 103mm light gun capable of being used in a wide array of roles and is currently used by all departments of the Armed Forces. Crews are usually drilled to complete a dismount, setup, 6 round burst, tear down and move off within 2 minutes. The Armed Forces possess a DPR for this weapon.
  • The 155/L55 LHM1A2 Rifled Howitzer is a New Shunde Arsenal 155mm howitzer that is diverse and incredibly modular. A DPR is held for the howitzer and it currently acts as the main howitzer of the Armed Forces in a majority of roles.
  • The HIA Valkirie MARS is a rocket artillery system designed for usage on vehicles.

Weapon accessories

  • The Model 38 Back up Iron Sight (BUIS), or Stonewall, is a durable RIS-compatable backup system to other optics should they fail. It is able to be flipped up and down depending on its current need. The Belfrasian Armed Forces utilise the 'Stonewall' on the majority of their rifles as of early 2012.
  • The Model 25 Sentinel Holosight is a holosight capable of serving in many roles and is currently used by Belfrasian Armed Forces to a large scale.
  • The Model 27 Adaptive Combat Optic is an adaptive wavelength, all weather, and all environment Combat Optic that is Designed for multiple weapon systems that benefit from its open frame layout and light weight construction.
  • The Model 30 Tactical Laser Illuminator is Amastols' next generation combined Illumination and Laser Aiming Module for combat forces.

Ballistic Vests
  • The UAE Systems Modular Personal Body Armor System™ (MPBAS™) is an Emmerian designed body armor system and since 2013 is the main bodyarmor used by the Armed Forces.
  • The 'Dauntless' Ballistic Armour is the Lyran Protectorate's range of ballistic armors. Designed for all forms of conflict, and to be practical in any situation. Currently issued to special forces and units of the Kings Gvardiya.
  • The Modular Tactical Vest (MTV) is the newest and most advanced vest in PDF inventories, with better protection than previous vests and a quick-release.
  • The [forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?ns=1&f=6&t=111926 HIA Peacekeeper Tactical Vest] was acquired in 2013 for usage in protecting civilian personnel in hostile or combat enviroments. It is subsequently supplied to journalists attached to military units.
  • The Scalable Plate Carrier was developed for PDF guardsmen in the recon divisions as it offers more mobility in exchange for less protection.
  • The Personnel Armor System for Ground Troops (PASGT) vest remains in some limited use in training and non-deployable units.
  • The Full Spectrum Battle Equipment kit includes a quick-release ballistic vest, integrated breathing and flotation devices, as well as load bearing equipment.[2]
  • The HIA EOD Suit 2b is the militaries primary EOD protection suit.
  • The PRU-70 for aviators and aircrew combines body armor, survival vest, and flotation device
Combat Helmets
  • The Stemix Wearable Resistant Enhanced Tactical Combat Helmet™ (WRETCH™) is the current in-service helmet of the Armed Forces.
  • The BALCOTH Advanced Helmet is the main helmet used by special forces inside the Belfrasian Armed Forces.
  • The Lightweight Helmet (LWH) can be used with the older sling suspension or a newer pad suspension to fit the helmet to the head,[3] as well as a nape protection system to add ballistic protection to the rear of the head.
  • The Personnel Armor System for Ground Troops (PASGT) helmet remains in limited use in training and non-deployable units.
  • The Enhanced Combat Vehicle Crewman’s Helmet (ECVCH) allows the crew of armored vehicles to communicate with less restriction on mobility and situational awareness without reducing ballistic protection.
  • Most pilots and aircrew will wear a flight helmet for protection from aviation-related hazards (such as an integrated oxygen mask), but typically offers little ballistic protection.
  • The [forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?ns=1&f=6&t=111927 HIA Combat Helmet Type 2] was acquired in late 2013 for usage in protecting civilian operators in combat or hostile enviroments. Subsequently it is supplied to news reporters or other Belfrasian national journalists that operate attached to military units.
  • The Pith helmet is worn not for ballistic protection, but to identify weapons range coaches and other range personnel.
Other Armor
  • Small Arms Protective Inserts (SAPI) are used with the MTV to provide protection beyond what the vest itself offers. SAPI are also available in side plates to protect the torso.
  • The Advanced Bomb Suit is a type of bombsuit used by Explosive Ordnance Disposal.
Chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear defense

Load-bearing & packs

  • The Improved Load Bearing Equipment or ILBE is the primary load bearing equipment and pack issued to PDF Guardsmen. It is designed to be of the same camouflage as the Marine Combat Utility Uniform (MCUU) and has greatly increased durability and comfort from the previous packs used. It comes in a standard, recon (smaller), and medic versions. The ILBE load equipment provides and improved load bearing vest and associated pouches to carry other items.
  • The duffel bag, has been issued to all servicemembers of all branches since before 1940. It is often used by servicemembers to transport personal equipment to and from their service points.
  • A rubberized waterproofing bag liner has been provided to PDF guardsmen for decades as a way to protect the contents of a tactical pack from water. Newer versions (known as the "stuff sack") have a purge valve to expel excess air to compress the sack.
  • The 'Gunslinger' pack allows a Sniper to conceal and protect his sniper rifle within the pack while on the move.

Clothing

Cold weather clothing
  • The Extended Cold Weather Clothing System has been altered with MCUU camouflage for use by the PDF.
  • The Lightweight Exposure Suit offers similar capabilities but is mainly used by aircrews.
  • The Extreme Cold Weather Parka & Trouser offer heavy protection from cold weather, and include overboots. Their disadvantange is the lack of any body armor plates or decent pockets for ammunition or other equipment.
  • The Snow Camouflage Uniform is a winter MARPAT overgarment to camouflage Marines and their equipment in snow. It is used in conjunction with the majority of equipment used while in a cold climate.
  • Polypropylene undershirt and underdrawer, nicknamed "polypro" and officially known as "silkweight", is a mock turtleneck and trousers designed to be worn next to skin, and designed by Polartec. Flame-resistant versions are available.
  • The Grid Fleece Midweight underwear includes a pullover and pants (in green and coyote brown). While the pullover is commonly issued as a warming layer in most locations, the pants are traditionally not issued unless the recipient is expected to face a cold weather environment. Flame-resistant versions are available.
  • A cap made from microfleece is given to PDF soldiers in most environments.
  • Cold weather socks and scarfs are also offered to soldiers going to cold weather environments.
  • Mountain/Cold Weather Boots, later renamed Rugged All Terrain (RAT) Boots, and Extreme Cold Vapor Barrier Boots are given. The overboots are insulated with an air barrier, and include a valve to allow paratroopers to jump with them, while the RAT Boot is reinforced with chemically impregnated leather for durability and stability.
Standard clothing
  • The MARPAT uniform has built-in slots for knee and elbow pads and is utilised by the PDF.
  • The Warez Precision Gen 4™ Ground Combat Uniform is the standard uniform of the Belfrasian Armed Forces, having replaced the LDPU in early 2013. It is used across the entire Armed Forces, in exclusion to the PDF.
  • The Lyran Disruptive Pattern Camouflage (LDPU) was phased out of service by the Warez Precision GCU and now serves with a majority of PDF combat units.
  • High-visibility clothing is often used by non-uniformed members of the Provincial Defence Force such as neighbourhood watchmen/women, Evacuation personnel, or medics. Green vests donate medical staff, red means evacuation and yellow means the wearer is a member of the neighbourhood watch. The wearer will also have an armband with his/her name, bloodtype, and unit written on it.

  • The 'Blacktalon' Combat Gloves were designed by Lyran Arms to be extremely durable yet comfy gloves that come in a wide range of roles.
  • The Berkeley HEATRAY™ FR assault gloves are an Emmerian design and are available to every branch of the Armed Forces. As of 2013 the Belfrasian Armed Forces maintains the ability to domestically produce them and offers them to soldiers with the Blacktalon gloves.

  • The 'Badger' Trench Axe is standard issue to all Soldiers to prepare entrenchments and fortifications. It can also be used as a combat tool.

Engineer Equipment

  • The Model 23 Mattock is a pickaxe designed for military use and currently used by the Belfrasian Armed Forces Engineering teams.
  • The 'Badger' Trench Axe serves as an entrenching tool as well as a close-combat weapon should the occasion call for it. Belfrasian Engineering teams use the Badger for both of its designed purposes.

Misc. Equipment

  • Stinger UCAV, an UCAV, is small enough to be carried by squad-level vehicles and can carry both Anti-air and Anti-armor ordnance. DPR held.
  • The AHE-01 Caagan sUAS is a pre-assembled UAV capable of being carried in a backpack for quick deployment.
  • The HIA Modular Armor System was acquired to become part of base fortifications.
  • The DRASH Shelters are easy-to-assemble tents capable to be constructed in any shape or form.
  • The Riemaian Military Daily Rations are used by the Belfrasian Armed Forces as the MRE with some minor alterations.
  • The Lamonian Military Rations - Basic are used by the Belfrasian Armed Forces as a preferred MRE.
  • The 'Badger' Trench Axe serves as an entrenching tool as well as a close-combat weapon should the occasion call for it.
  • The 'Warshroud' Multispectral camouflage netting serves as Belfras' main camouflage netting for a majority of uses. It is often seen working side-by-side with DRASH shelters to camouflage them and external operations.
  • The Counter Stealth Radar System is an Eslovakian design being tested by the Belfrasian Army and Navy for future usage aboard native warships, installations, and mobile forces. Ten examples are currently in service.
  • The HIA Wound Stasis System is currently being trialed for usage by combat medics to improve survivability on the modern battlefield.

Vision Systems

  • The Model 33 Binoculars is a compact, lightweight tactical illumated binocular that weighs only 350 grams. The Belfrasian Armed Forces utilises the Model 33 as a replacement of the bulky and outdated binoculars they previously used.

Communication Equipment

  • The LS/MCS 87 'CONRAD' is the standard communication device of the Belfrasian Armed Forces, particularly the soldiers and ground vehicles. It is standard issue to every soldier currently in service today.

Livestock

  • The Horse is a single-hooved four-legged animal that has been used by man since roughly 3,000 BC. They are often used by the Belfrasian Army for scouting operations where noise must be kept to a minimum and speed is needed or patrolling the Mystical Mountain provinces where vehicles would find a tough time navigating.
  • The Battlehound, otherwise known as the Lyran Wolfhound, Lyran Warhound, Greater Wolfhound or Manhound is a large breed of domesticated dog often used by the Belfrasian Armed Forces for duties of all varieties from guard-duty to anti-insurgent duties. The Belfrasian Armed Forces aquired a Breeding certificate (or DPR) in mid july 2011.
