The Fang Sniper System, or BR Hornisse (Hornet, TECT Armed Forces designation) is a semiautomatic, special application marksman rifle designed and manufactured by Wolf Armaments. BR Hornisse is loosely based off of earlier designs like the AR Scorpion and BR Forelis with a special focus on marksmanship applicability. Its civilian counterpart (the Fang Marksman System) has become a popular battle rifle/marksman competition rifle inside the Empire; in the Armed Forces, the military variant (BR Hornisse) has become a popular marksman rifle choice for most units as well as a replacement for units that operate battle rifles in special operation roles.

BR Hornisse/Fang Sniper Systems use a rotating bolt and a direct impingement gas system that fires the projectile through a cold hammered-forged 5R (five grove) free-floating barrel; the barrel also features over-the-beach (OTB) capability, such as drainage holes in the bolt carrier and buffer system, are used to enable the rifle to be fired safely after being submerged in water or in other extremely wet conditions. The gas system itself is designed to reduce impact force on users; a buffer spring tube is installed over this section to reduce further the perceived force felt from firing the weapon. BR Hornisse/Fang Sniper Systems are designed with mostly similar parts to AR Scorpions, utilizing 60% of the same parts and are made from similar high grade aluminum and high-impact resistant plastics. Even the barrel, a five grove aluminum lined design, is similar to the AR Scorpion's marksman variant barrel. The firing mechanism features many improvements in design, including a new leak-proof bolt system and an internal carrier design. The bolt system features a grooving layout on its exterior, allowing for water build up and removal of obstacles during operation. This newer design also provides superior sealing, stress relief, material ejection, and supports frequent high-density use no matter the weapon's layout. This results in a more rigid barrel due to the elimination of taper-pin grooves, and does not require individually fit gas blocks or single-use taper-pins; this also improves the longevity of the barrel and the weapon's internal systems.

BR Hornisse, and most models the Fang Sniper Systems, feature a special over-the-barrel free floating rail system; said system supports highly efficient air flow and comfortable gripping for multiple shooting stances. This rail system allows each rifle to attach a variety of attachments, including optics, bipods, slings, electronics and other various miscellaneous gear. The receiver top rail is the position where most optic sights are placed, such as sniper scopes, but rails on the three, six, and nine-o-clock, plus available openings, support any individual's desired attachment placement. A common series of ten and twenty round box magazines are used and similar to thirty round magazines used in earlier designs - it is commonly clear (see-through) but other models include non-clear and partially clear coverings. The standard model rifle stock is a collapsing stock that features a cheek rest mount that can be adjusted and a padded butt for improved shock absorption. Although, many of these stated standard parts and attachments can be interchanged with variable parts on the market, including pistol grips, stocks, rails covers, and other widely available equipment.

As a marksman rifle primarily for use as a sniper rifle, BR Hornisse/Fang Sniper Systems are built for reliability and improved accuracy. The barrel muzzle is a custom flash hiding design that acts as a moderate suppressor, working to suppress the noise of the gunshot and suppress produced gunshot flashes; this ultimately improves stability and accuracy as well. Each rifle is built resistant to earthly harm, and is especially weather/waterproof. Accuracy is top priority in design, hence the free-floating barrel and weapon layout. Its special purpose design allows each rifle to be used by almost any soldier in any role; from a designated marksman to a recon sniper, and even to a special operator needing heavier firepower, BR Hornisse are accustomed to many missions for many services. The standard cartridge of the Fang is the 7.58×54mm WA CTA, which is a standard issue cartridge in the TECT Armed Forces; significant variants were never produced because both NATO and Soviet cartridges (Commoner too) share the same size and therefore modification are unneeded - variants for different barrels and receiver designs do exist, however.

Simunition Conversion

Conversion kits are available for all models of the Fang Sniper System; they include a bolt carrier (partly colored blue to distinguish it), blank-firing adapter for firing blanks, and an upper receiver colored blue to distinguish it for its practice use. The standard kit will also include a laser transmitter for laser combat systems to use; such systems would include individual soldiers carrying small laser receivers scattered over their bodies, which detect when the soldier has been illuminated by a firearm's laser. Each laser transmitter would be set to mimic the effective range and potential damage of the weapon on which it is used. Depending on how complex the laser combat system is, trainers can retrieve immediate results and statistics compiled by the system; such examples include readings that give medics a digital readout to determine which first aid method to practice and probability readouts. Using the conversion kit, the Fang Sniper can seamlessly integrate into these laser combat systems.
