The Far East, officially the Far Eastern Soviet Socialist Republic, is a large nation in Northern Asia. It borders Siberia to the north, Buryatia to the south, Manchuria to the southeast, and Tuva to the southwest, and Russia to the west.
During the Second Russian Civil War, Mikhail Gorbachev and many loyalists to Reform Socialism fled Moscow, and went east to Novosibirsk. They declared the independent Far Eastern Soviet Socialist Republic, which was first recognized by China, and then the rest of the UN followed suit as the civil war raged on.
