The Federal Department of Security (FDS, Zhenian: 연방보안부), formally the Federal Department of Security of the Greater Eastern Union, is the principle intelligence service of the Greater Eastern Union of Zhenia, tasked with the gathering of intelligence both domestic and international as well as the security of the nation, including counter-intelligence and counterterrorism. It often cooperates with some departments under the Federal Police Agency and the intelligence components of the Greater Eastern Union Defense Forces to carry out its tasks and ensure national security. It is one of the government agencies directly under the order of the Chancellor rather than the Premier, while its chief, the Director of the Federal Department of Security, is appointed directly by the Chancellor.
