Finlan, officially the Republic of Finlan, is a nation in northern Europe. It is bordered by Nava to the northwest. It has a coast with the Gulf of Bothnia to the west, the Baltic Sea to the southwest, the Fin Sea to the south, the Ladoga Sea to the southeast, the White Sea to the east, the Kanin Sea to the far east, and the Barents Sea to the north.

Finlan ranks high in political freedom and civil liberties, and moderately high in HRC-FS human rights, being a member of the Human Rights Coalition. Finlan is fairly rejectful to immigration and rarely grants citizenship. Social discrimination against immigrants is common, however the government does not condone these actions, but does have restrictions in place to prioritise Fin citizens.

The Fin economy is based in marine technology with investments across the world, especially in submarine transport and cities. Fin submarine technology and infrastructure companies are responsible for the construction of several submarine cities and is the provider of many submarine vehicles for several countries. Finlan also has a thriving agriculture market and a large amount of fisheries. Finlan is a significant producer and supplier of seafood for Europe and western Asia.

Etymology

The origin of the name Finlan is completely unknown. It's likely that the word Fin was given to the people inhabiting the area by the Glish people in the first or early second millenia. The word lan was added to create the name Finlan, literally lan of the Fins.
