The national flag of Trenado (Galego: Bandeira de Trenado) consists of a plain blue field with six white stars spanning diagonally across the flag, with eight small stars scattered in white and red. It was adopted officially on 1 July 1807, with adjustments being made on 2 February 1879 establishing the colors as blue, red and white - replacing the original yellow tone with red. It has a 3:2 ratio between length and width.

The use of four red stars is a reference to the Orion's Belt and its three stars, with an additional star representing the nation's autonomy and strength; the additional four white stars symbolize the four seasons of the year, implying the country will stay strong regardless of season. The six diagonal stars reference the six members of the Trenadian Army that arranged the coup d'etat that established the country's independence: Román Bocanegra, André Valdovinos, Abraham Saabedra, Henrique Pino, Goio Xilgorio Figueredo and Isaac Castelán. Blue symbolizes the night in which the Trenadian independence was proclaimed; red symbolizes the blood of the ancestors who died for the creation of a prosperous nation; white symbolizes peace and rule.

Military flags

Previous flags

1807

After 3 May 1807, the country unofficially used a blue flag with a red diagonal stripe until the Helia Aday Nogueira flag was proposed.

1807-1879

The original Trenadian flag, proposed and adopted in 1807, utilizes the same symbols: a blue rectangle with six diagonal stars and eight smaller stars. It utilizes blue, yellow and white as its primary colors - symbolizing the night of the Trenadian independence proclamation, the mineral riches of the country and peace respectively. The yellow color was then replaced by red on 22 February 1879, as proposed by the national congressmen under the impression that the original flag did not "symbolize the years of fighting for independence".
