The Foreign Service Medal is the third-highest general service medal of Aquitayne. It is issued for exemplary meritorious service in, or for, the Aquitaynian Foreign Service. Actions required for the issuance of the reward must separate the individual from the rest of their peers, and is most typically issued during retirement ceremonies for seasoned career diplomats. Other common instances of issuance are on the death of a member of the Royal Service while fulfilling their duties.
The largest single issuance of this award was a result of the 2011 Aquitaynian embassy attack in Paradise City. On January 25th 2011, after the bodies of the foreign service employees arrived back in Aquitayne, four individuals were posthumously awarded the medal.
