The Free Christian State Party (Dutch: Vrije Christelijke Rijkspartij, VCRP) is a social liberal and left-libertarian political party.

History

In the 1970s the VCRP lost a lot of voters to christian-pacifist Caucus'70. In the 1981 election the party lost all their seats a had no parliamentary representation in the State Assembly. For nine years the VCRP remained as a extra-parliamentary political party. After the fall of the Berlin Wall the VCRP saw a increase in popularity, in the 1990 election the VCRP won 9 seats and entered the State Assembly after nine years of no representation at national level.

Electorate

The electorate of the VCRP is concentrated in the Capital-Region and in the larger cities of the rural states. Important voter groups are students, scienctists, teachers and people working in the creative sector.
