The Galerius Pedius Carius class is a class of guided-missile destroyer escort named after the N.R.I. Nauarchus Galerius Pedius Carius, the hero of the naval Battle of XXXXX. Also known as the Carius class, the warships were designed in the New Roman Imperium in the late-1970s as general-purpose escort vessels inexpensive enough to be bought in large numbers to replace the fleet of aging destroyer escorts. Intended to protect fleets, supply and replenishment groups, and merchant convoys from aircraft and submarines. They were also later part of battleship-centred surface action groups and aircraft carrier battle groups/strike groups.

The first of the N.R.I. Republic Navy built Galerius Pedius Carius destroyer escorts entered into service in 1979, and remains in active service, with the Republic Navy's Territorial Water Defense Force.
