The Green Party (Venadian: Партия Зеленых, transcript: Partiya Zelenyyh) is a minor political party in Venadia with representation on the local level, and is represented in the regional veches of the Great City of Venagorod, the Tysyacha of Naskoslav and the Koni Volost (where it attained 4.5% of the votes in the 2013 district election). The party was originally formed in 1988 by environmentalist members of the Communist Party of Venadia. The GPs support remains strongest in urban areas and university towns, and as of the 2015 legislative election was the largest left-wing party outside of the Great Veche. While the party is economically leftist, it has been known to support right-wing candidates or parties when their policies are more environmentally friendly than that of the Socialist Party.
