HMAS Enterprise was a Kitty Hawk-Class Aircraft Carrier of the Royal Aswickan Navy. It was bought into service in 1996, and has since served as the second flagship of the fleet, the first being HMAS Aswick, a wooden sailing frigate, and the oldest ship of the Aswickan Navy.

Acquisition

In 1992, the Aswickan carrier HMAS Defender of the Essex Class, was retired from the service. Then the Navy started looking for a replacement, knowing that they could not design a new class themselves they decided to purchase one. In 1995, the Navy entered negotiations with the Kobolis Federal Navy, and on the 10th of October the Navy officially commissioned the Kitty Hawk class Carrier and renamed her HMAS Enterprise. Amongst the modifications made to the ship, the Aswickan Navy removed the catapult system and installed a ski ramp on the angled flight deck.

1996 - 1998

During the first two years of her service in the Aswickan Navy, Enterprise underwent a heavy refit that would extend her life until sometime in the 2020's. New systems were added, and old systems were replaced. The flight deck, lifts, as well as the hangars were modified to fit the F/A 19 Warrior.

1999 - 2005

During the first six years Enterprise was actually in use, it mainly patrolled the seas around Aswick. In 2003, the ship was the subject of an accident. An F/A 19 Warrior had suffered in-flight damage, and came in too low for landing. The pilot was unable to pull up, and slammed into the rear of the ship. Enterprise limped back to port where she was repaired of all damage.

2006 - 2007

Over the next 2 years, Enterprise and her task group would take part in an exercise along with Aquitaynian units. For her performance, "The Big E" as her crew called her, received several Navy "E" ribbons that demonstrated how skilled the crew was.

2008

When in 2008 the civil war flared up again, Enterprise had just left port. She quickly received orders to regularly have its squadrons in the air in order to bomb rebel military installations. They had been so effective that Enterprise received a Navy Unit Citation, and No.3 Naval Fighter Squadron received the Navy Meritorious Unit Citation.

2009 - Decommissioning

In 2016, not long after the end of the Aswickan civil war, Enterprise was decommissioned, and her name and distinguished lineage was transferred to the soon-to-be commissioned Arcturus-Class Carrier.
