The ha'Roita dynasty, or House of Rohit, is the current ruling house of Txekrikar.

Origins

The ha'Roita dynasty originates from the town of Rohit, on the east bank of the river Baira; the name 'ha'Roita' is Andamonian meaning "of Rohit". It is unclear when the house first emerged, although an unnamed figure was recorded paying homage to the Andamonian emperor in 1219. This figure is identified in family histories as the legendary Prince Tamran I of Rohit. Rohit was a vassal of the Andamonian Empire until the seventeenth century. It was independent from 1647 until 1703 as the Duchy of Rohit, with these years marked by a long-running feud with neighbouring Andamonian nobles. The family was driven from its estates in 1703 at the instigation of rivals from Zitiar, then also an Andamonian fief. Seeking refuge in friendly Txekrikar, Duke Enaran was granted considerable estates near Sasahiri. His son, Oremon, married Princess Aralis of Txekrikar in 1724. The house has held the title of Prince of Txekrikar since this time.
