The Hani Peninsula province is one of the 10 provinces of Salamat, located in eastern Salamat, it is home to the third biggest city of Salamat, Hani. It is a major agricultural region, with plains in the southwest, the centerwest and the northeast and a mountain range in the center as well. The province borders Dar Al Hamma Province in the northeast and the Gold Coast in the east.
Geography and geology
The province is located entirely on the Hani Peninsula. The center of the province is mountainous, with hills and mountains surrounding the 1000 meters mark, and the coastal area is pretty flat, with some local exceptions (ex : Minhaq range east of Hani). The province is mostly agricultural, with some forests sparsely occupying the area (ex : Jijani State Forest).
The highest point is mount Khadim, at 1181 meters above sea level. The lowest point is the bed of the Oued Mahdi, at -5 meters.
