Opened with the purpose of hosting the final match of the 2015 World Cup, the center was completed in 2014 and it is used mostly for soccer matches. The main stadium was designed with a capacity of 80,000 spectators. The stadium is built on a site consisting of 60,000 square meters (650,000 sq ft) on the Xhua riverfront, opposite Hanshi's New City Central Business District.
