The Hood class Fleet Carrier is a fleet carrier in service with the Imperial & Federal Navy of the Imperial and Federal Union, and is one of hte key vessels of any R.u.B Fleet Group's Scouting Fleet. Although vastly different in terms of mission role when compared to most other capital vessels, the Hood class is still considered a vital tool for any large scale fleet action. The capability of a fleet carrier to strike from a distance--often several light hours away--makes the Hood class a vital tool for scouting and other purposes, including raids on strategic targets or in support of a fleet action. With its advanced sensor and control systems, the Hood class is a popular flagship, particularly among Scouting Fleet officers who place great value on their strike craft. As part of the Scouting Fleet, the Hood class is usually committed to dangerous scouting, raiding, and support missions.
