The Hoterallian International Film Festival (ほてらじあ国際映画祭, Hoterajiakokusaieigasai, HIFF) is a film festival established in 1985. The event was held biennially from 1975 to 1991 and annually thereafter.
The awards handed out during the festival have changed throughout its existence, but the Golden Fox handed to the best film, has stayed as the top award. Other awards that have been given regularly include the Best Movie Award, Best Animation Award and awards for best actor, best actress and best director.
The festival is usually held throughout September, with the last few days of September being the award handing ceremony. Events include open-air screenings, voice-over screenings, and appearances by actors, as well as seminars and symposiums related to the film market.

1977 | A Drifting Life | Hoterallia | A poor artist and a starving monogaka decided to team up to try and enhance each other experience so that both could become rich and famous. Even though managing some success at the start, the two began to suspect each one another of stealing their fames while their ideas continue to be more different day by day. In the end, the monogaka decided to strike first, killing the artist and got arrested, the movie ends with montages of news headlines talking about the murder. |
