The House of Astugón is a royal house which originated in Spain in the 16th Century. It was established as the ruling house of Escandria in 1515 when Juan Pablo Astugón de Palma was elected King of Escandria. It was deposed in 1878 after the abolishment of the monarchy, and the members of the house were exiled- a majority of the royal family fleeing to Spain.
Today, the head of the house and claimant to the defunct throne of Escandria is Prince Nicolás, Duke of Gancia, 4x-great-grandson of the last King of Escandria, Juan VI.
