The House of Jarls of The Kingdom of Blechingia or House of Jarls is the upper house of the Riksdag, and together with the House of Commons, the lower house, constitutes the bicameral legislature of Blechingia. It is made up of 144 members — each province, regardless of its population size, is equally represented by 4 Senators but the one Federal District receives 6 due to its special status. Senators are elected to four year terms by popular vote.
To run for election in the Senate, a candidate must have been an Blechingian citizen for 10 years and be an inhabitant of the state they represent. They must also be at least 30 years old and can no longer serve after reaching the age of 76. There are no term limits, though such an idea has been gaining significant traction for several years.
