Ibravian Secretary of State

The Ibravian Secretary of State is the head of the Ibravian Department of State, which implements foreign policy for the Ibravian federal government, representing both it and the country in foreign countries. The Secretary of State is one of the highest ranking members of the Federal Cabinet, ranking second in the Ibravian presidential line of succession among other Cabinet secretaries.

The Secretary of State is nominated by the President of the United States of Ibravia and, following a confirmation hearing before the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, is confirmed by the Ibravian Senate. The Secretary of State, along with the Secretary of the Treasury, Secretary of Defense, and Attorney General, are generally regarded as the five most crucial Cabinet members because of the importance of their respective departments.

The current Secretary of State is Alejandro McCormick, who was confirmed on November 19, 2019 by the Senate.
