The Imperial Confederation (Imperial Standard: ๐๐๐น๐จ๐๐จ๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ฒ๐๐๐ฏ๐ผ๐ฒ๐๐ฉ๐๐ฒ๐), often simplified to the Confederation is a sovereign country which is located primarily within the Hyporian Sector, with territories within the Malvidian Sector and the Lesphagian Sector. The Imperial Confederation's central government is housed on the planet of Avestion within Avestion City. There are six official member states in the Confederation: Apregian Republic, State of Barylius, Stellan Republic, Octavian Empire, Caniderian Empire and the United Canidium Republics. Each of these member states is located within the Hyporian Sector. The Confederation also has six observatory member states in the Confederation: Qel Federation, Directorate of Kiridus, Ardomachia, Sormidian Federal Republic, Rokophantesian Republic and the Viedman Republic. The Imperial Confederation borders the Akannite Federation in the Malvidian Sector near Sormidia and Lijiang in the Lesphagian Sector.
The Imperial Confederation's government strives to strike a balance of confederal lack of power and federal strength of power. The Confederation's government was pioneered by the First Confederal Congress. Officially, the Imperial Confederation considers itself to be Legislative-dependent system. Each member state, observatory and official agrees to the Confederal Constitution in which all member states can willingly secede from. Each official member state is entitled to a seat at the Executive Confederal Council and both official and observatory member states are entitled to representatives within the Confederal Legislative House. Despite holding onto the title of a confederation, the confederation's government holds onto some power over taxation, commerce, intermember commerce, and foreign policy.
The Imperial Confederation was formed under the terms set by the First Birospan Congress, a congressional meeting between the Apregian Republic and the State of Barylius to form as the Apregian-Barylian Confederation. This eventually grew to include the Stellan Republic in which the First Confederal Congress was held. Eventually the Octavian-Confederal War began between the new Imperial Confederation and the Octavian Empire
