Imperial Megye

Within The Empire, an Imperial Megye (Plural: Megyék) are an administrative division that exist within the five Imperial Vidékek. There are a total number of twenty three megyék within the Empire that retain a form of governmental jurisdiction. Typically, an Imperial Megye reflects the borders of Imperial tribes that existed during the Proto-Imperial Era. Mégyek as an administrative division is unorthodox in that it is not controlled directly by a government, but is rather divided into estates or vice versa. These estates are owned and controlled by specific noble families. Estates will typically have some form of local government that runs without interference of the noble family and in-exchange is funded by that noble family.

Imperial megyes lack a direct form of government and ultimately rest power on the noble families that own the estates. Typically within a megye, the noble family that holds control of the majority of estates will represent that megye entirely.
