The Independence Party is a centre-right Conservative Liberal political party in Arkiasis.
They were founded as an alternative to the right wing vote which combined liberal social policies with liberal economic policies. It gained popularity in the 00's as the economic liberal faction of the Liberal Party became dissatisfied with party leadership. In coalition with the Progressive Party, the party won the 2014 parliamentary election and helped form its first ever government. They currently hold the office of President.
Ideology
The Independence Party is founded on liberal philosophy, traditionally being the most ardent supporter of 'free markets' of all Arkiasian political parties. Party policies include a greater emphasis on the free-market and decentralization to the Provincial and local levels. Other economic policies include reducing taxes, small government, deregulation and a balanced budget.
