The Independent Party of the Earth Humans, commonly referred to as the Independent Party, is one of three major political parties in the Earth Humans, along with the Liberal Party and Conservative Party. The Independent Party is a combination of the other two parties. Created for individuals who did not want to identify with either party or felt like they shared common views between the two parties. The Independent Party has the same ideologies as the other two parties and covers the entirety of the left side on the political spectrum.

Traditionally Independents don't have their own "party," the term is used as an identifier for people whose beliefs don't match exactly with any specific party. In the case of Earth Humans, however, the government decided to recognize an "Independent Party" as a major political party in the country to allow for more diverse representation in the government and to differentiate themselves from America's failing two-party system.

Currently, the Independent Party holds the majority in, the House with 85 seats and total government control with 107 seats.

Acting Congress (2019-present)

House of Representatives

In the House, the Independents are the majority and the Liberals and Conservatives are the minority but because the Liberals have more seats than the Conservatives this makes them the Major-Minority. This means when it comes to voting in the House, Independents vote first since they hold the majority of the seats, Liberals vote second since they have fewer seats than Independents but more than Conservatives, and the Conservatives vote last due to having the least amount of seats and because the Conservatives have fewer seats than the Liberals it makes them the Minor-Minority.

Current status: Majority

Senate

In the Senate, the Liberals are the majority and the Independents and Conservatives are the minority but because the Independents have more seats than the Conservatives this makes them the Major-Minority. This means when it comes to voting in the Senate, Liberals vote first since they hold the majority of the seats, Independents vote second since they have fewer seats than Liberals but more than Conservatives, and the Conservatives vote last due to having the least amount of seats and because the Conservatives have fewer seats than the Independents it makes them the Minor-Minority.

Current status: Major-minority
