The insurgency in Selekaria is an ongoing low-level conflict in Selekaria. The conflict has mainly taken the form of urban guerrilla actions, with insurgent outfits carrying out bombing campaigns across the country, although armed clashes have occurred. The insurgency has claimed the lives of some 5,000 people and has been a consistent headache for Selekarian security forces.
The conflict began in 1997 with the formation of the Army for Liberation and Revolution (ALiR), which intended to overthrow the regime of Jacob Nauta, the president of Selekaria since 1991. The next year, two other insurgent groups established themselves, those being the Communist Party of Selekaria (CPS) and the Army for the Restoration of Democracy (ARD).
