The Iron Axis is an intergovernmental organization of authoritarian nations from across Artemia created in September of 1911. The Axis or IA was the culmination of several years of centralization among Matorran Client States beginning with the signing of the Torre Pact (later known as the Torre Entente) in 1905 between the Kingdom of Matorre and United Realms of Istria. Since then numerous military and economic agreements were signed between the two nations, with the creation of the Iron Economic Commmunity and the Lepanto Declaration.

In the late 1930s however, negotiations began to merge these numerous organizations into one overarching authority. Under the agreement signed in the city of Castelencia, the IA became the military and defensive side of the organization and the Iron Economic Community, renamed into the Greater Cooperation Community, become the political, economic, and legal side of the organization. Since its creation, the community has expanded beyond its traditional Arcadian heartlands to incorporate nations such as Ara'den, Mesren and Istahar, making it a truly global organization.
