Iselan, officially the Republic of Iselan, is a nation in northwest Europe. It is an island nation with a coast with the Navan Sea to the east, the Greenlan Sea to the north, and the Atlantic Ocean to the west and south.

Iselan ranks very high in civil liberties, HRC-FS human rights, and political freedom. It is a member of the Human Right Coalition (HRC) and has maintained high levels of civil liberties and political freedom for over 1000 years. Politics in Iselan are not of a hostile nature with little political conflict in the country.

Iselan is extremely advanced technologically and is home to some of the best universities and technology companies in the world. Iselan was completely closed off to the rest of the world after the End of the World and did not open any diplomatic relations again until around 2550. Since then, Iselan has been a common stop for travel between Europe and Kalaallit. Several cruise and transportation companies have major operations in Iselan. Iselan also produces hydrothermal power, carbon-oxygen transformers, and seafood.

Etymology

According to an Iselanic legend, the island was so named by a viking who saw fjords and inlets covered in icebergs after climbing a mountain. He arrived to the island after his daughter and livestock died during an exploratory expedition north, prompting him to land on the island in search of resources.
