Although originally starting as a regional association of Ulama supporting (whatever conservative party that existed), the Islamic Coalition, or the Society for Akhlaq as it was known, was formed in 1991 to support a just and Islamic Khatay. Originally, the Society for Akhlaq supported (Conservative Party) but there became growing disagreement between the two parties. Central to the Society for Akhlaq was the principle as stated in the Holy Quran "وَلْتَكُنْ مِنْكُمْ أُمَّةٌ يَدْعُونَ إِلَى الْخَيْرِ وَيَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ ۚ وَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ" (Let there arise out of you a band of people inviting to all that is good, enjoining what is right, and forbidding what is wrong: They are the ones to attain felicity.) The Society felt that the (conservative party) was betraying this in regards to it acquiescing to the West, which is by nature immoral and suspect to evils such as usury and homosexuality. Although starting very small, it quickly came to grew as a powerful force in Khatay politics, often being the kingmaker in successive governments. In line with it's central belief of "enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong", it supports center-left economics and socially conservative ideas. Similarly, it is has been from its foundation a supporter of Khatay independence and sovereignty as it sees otherwise as a way for the immoral Western Powers to assert it's unislamic morality on a righteous people. It sees an independent and Islamic Khatay as a goal and a society that will benefit every Khatayi.
