Ivan Istina (Tengarian: Иван Истина, 8 May 1875- 28 October 1928) was a Philosopher and Polymath during the early twentieth century from the Empire of Tengaria, and the principal founder of the Znaniya school of Philosophy. While first and foremost writing about philosophy, Istina also made singificant contributions to many studies and many fields such as Theology, Logic, Epistemology, Physics, Mathematics, Politics, Natural Science, Literature, Music, and other fields. He is considered as one of the largest influences on the Tengarian Revival which happened during the early 20th century.
Istina is well-known for revitalizing the ideas of Teleological thought on the philosophical stage, and is also considered one of the most important commentators on Xenagoras. Many of his works are an adaptation of Xenagoras's ideas with modern developments and a systemization of Teleological thought into a cohesive whole. However, he also brought forth many new ideas and contributions to Philosophy, such as his campaign against Specialization and the promotion of "universal studies" focused around Theology, Philosophy and the Liberal Arts. He was a major proponent in the revitilzation of liberal education.
A controversial figure in his own time both at home and internationally,
Born into an aristocratic family in the southern coastal plains of Tengaria, Istina from a young age had access to a large library from which to read.
