Career

Upon his fathers death in 1992, Schlyurp inherited the wealth his father had accumulated from the PepsiCo Food Company. Schlyurp was voted in as the CEO of PepsiCo, and lobbied in the National People's Congress for the company to be able to expand its sales to the Americas. In 1993, Schlyurp spearheaded a move to export large quantities of Pepsi drinks to the Niagara Union-- a hardline communist state at the time-- in exchange for warships owned by the Niagara Union, seeing the ships as a more reliable form of payment than the Niagaran Dollar. Schlyurp retired from his position as CEO of PepsiCo in 2004, and has continued to use his significant wealth to fund various organizations and initiatives, such as the Tito Pérez Foundation.
