János Szabó was a Hétumogerian lawyer and politician who served as the Governor of the Sió Nationalist Government and later the Presiding Representative of Sió in the Confederal Citizens Council. As the Presiding Representative of Sió, he also representated the Sió Nationalist Bloc within the House of Citizens. Before that, Szabó was a member of the Blue Nationalist Party and was originally a member of the Collectivist Party before the Democratic Bloc Merger. He served as a Polgárság Representative of Sió in the Nepkormany, originally as a Collectivist in 1901, and later reelected in 1909. Szabó remained in politics after the ratification of the Treaty of Ándrassy as an independent, and was later appointed as the Noble Minister of Environment in 1941. Szabó eventually retired after his tenure as the Noble Minister.

Born in Csanytelek in the district of Sió, Szabó graduated from Ándrassic City University in 1880 and joined the Collectivist Party as an activist and worked in local party, and was elected as one of the Collectivist representatives in the Ándrassic Local Kuratórium in 1884. In 1888, Szabó did not run for reelection and was instead hired to be a member of the Ándrassic City University Tanszéktanácsm. He served as the Department Head of Political Sciences, during which time the Néma Forradalom began in 1901. Shortly after, the Andrássy Riot began and drew national attention and scorn at the handling of the riots by Horváth Ákos and the 2nd Andrássic Rendőrség Regiment.
