Jav is the Imerian god of coins, trade, gold, roads, travel and rivers and is such considered one of the major gods. Shrines to him can often be found on the larger roads and seals asking for his blessing was often buried under roads.

in the old days so was it also customary for merchants to either throw one ninth of their profits from trade into the ocean or on large pyres as an offering to Jav. According to legend was it also Jav with the aid of Hasur that forged the first coins and gave that wisdom to the humans.

Birth

Jav was born a son of a dwarven ruler that was said to be infertile and was the last of his line and as age came upon him did he become more and more terrified that his line would end with him. The dwarf made sacrifice upon sacrifice to both the gods and the spirits hoping that they would grant him someone to carry on his name.

And Mirviva the fertility goddess answered his prayers, she instructed him to sacrifice nine cows in the honour of Rasmer and forge a skeleton out of pure gold and so did the dwarf king do. Together did they use the muscles and the intestines, hearts, lungs and brain of the cows to dress the skeleton. Then did Mirivia once every night for nine nights take the seed and blood of the king, she mixed them and poured them down into the thing they created and upon the ninth day did their creation open it's eyes and born was Jav. Jav left with Mirviva but the dwarven king and his queens gave birth to 100 children and all lived long lives creating a mighty dynasty.

Jav in the sagas

Jav is in the saga a rather chaste man, fathering very few children and took few lovers, however so was he not a particularly warlike god so he does not appear too often. When he appear though so does he always demands payment for his help, in most cases so did he demand tribute in the shape of gold and coins but it is not entirely unknown for him to ask for blood sacrifices either.

Children

Jav have been known to father a few children and first amongst them is Javessen that is said to be the blessed rosetouched that invented the first banks in Scandera and watches over banking. However so does Jav lack the numerous children that for instance Bel, Rasmer, or mirviva have.

Worship of Jav

Jav is worshipped mostly by merchants and travellers and as such is it common to burn a coin as a sacrifice to him before heading out for long travels but it is also common to burn part of your profits in his name as well after a successful trade. There are however also long rites and prayers dedicated to Jav asking for his blessings that are sung during prayers in the temples. Template:Chronological gods
