Jefustraz, officially known as the United Kingdom of Jefustraz, is a sovereign nation located in the southeastern corner of the continent of Nortua. Bordered by the nation of Zoygaria to the west and Greland to the north, Jefustraz boasts a rich and diverse cultural heritage. Its strategic position is defined by the majestic Greland Strait, which flows along its eastern and southern boundaries. The nation also includes the significant island of Brondir to the south, where the capital city of Fehrmont is situated.

Jefustraz's history begins thousands of years ago when the first humans came about in the island of Brondir. There multiple small clans gained the control of the land, with 5 major factions vying for Power. After a series of wars among the factions, Jefustraz was finaly united on 2nd December of 1246. King Valdemar I Angelos of the Mondsyn clan was declared the first King of Jefustraz. The nation also went through 2 major civil wars and finally a magna carta signed in 1637 limited the power of the monarchy and established a parliamentary system with the monarch as just a figurehead.

With its picturesque landscapes ranging from rolling plains to lush forests, Jefustraz offers breathtaking natural beauty that attracts both locals and visitors alike. The Republic of Jefustraz is renowned for its vibrant arts scene, encompassing diverse forms of expression such as music, dance, and traditional crafts. The Inderish music is a type of music famous in the northern part of Jefustraz and has a unique blend of Rumani, Zoygarian and Brondiri style. Apart from that, special designer clothes, called the Valkeri worn by many in Southeastern Nortua has it's origin in the Brondir Islands. Its cultural heritage is celebrated through numerous festivals and events throughout the year including the Moonshadow festival, showcasing the nation's rich tapestry of traditions and customs.

Jefustraz operates under a federal parliamentary system, where power is shared between the central government and the regional administrations. The political landscape is characterized by a multi-party system, with several political parties vying for representation and influence. The highest authority is vested in the Prime Minister, who serves as the head of government. The Prime Minister is elected through a democratic process, and their term in office is limited to 5 years before another election. A person is allowed to rule as the PM for 20 consecutive years only, though no one in Jefustraz's history has ever acheived it.

Diplomatically, the nation has maintained good relations with almost all nations. Even though Jefustraz had a lot of wars and battles against it's immediate neighbours, Zoygaria, the 2 nations have managed to overcome their differences and get a long lasting peace in the modern era. Jefustraz is also a member of the Coalition of Crown Albatross.

History

Pre History

The region that would later become Jefustraz was initially inhabited by various indigenous tribes, with evidence of human settlements dating back thousands of years. These early communities relied on agriculture, hunting, and fishing for sustenance, and developed unique cultural practices and traditions. Most of these communities thrived in the coastal regions and the eastern riverlands with a few surviving in the central plateaus and forests. As time passed, several prominent clans emerged as power centers, each with its own territory and leadership.

Before Unification

Before Unification, the land was ruled by multiple small and big clans deviding the island of Brondir,with the mainland being ruled by Zoygarian clans. The most influential clans of Brondir included Drelskrein, Mondsyn, Karmroo and Yzurhand, with their own distinct cultures, languages, and traditions. The period preceding the unification of Jefustraz was characterized by frequent clan wars and power struggles. Rivalries and conflicts often erupted over territorial disputes, resources, and quest for dominance. These clashes were marked by fierce battles, political maneuvering, and intricate alliances.

War of Sun and Moon

One of the most significant conflicts was the Great War of Sun and Moon, which engulfed the entire region and reshaped the political landscape. The war started due to a string of events including Meor of the Mondsyn clan betraying his brother Mefor, the Yzurhand clan breaking the Tresokar Pact to side with Drelskrein clan and the Drelskrein ordering the anhilation of the Smaragdkreis Clan. This lead to Mefor's Grandson Yfir to create an alliance and wage war on Drelskrein and Yzurhand as well as on Meor in 848 CE .The war involved multiple clans vying for control, with the Mondsyn clan eventually emerging as the dominant force as the war ended with a peace treaty in 887 CE.

Geography

Brondir Island

The Brondir Island is a major island located south of the mainland. The largest island under the jurisdiction of Jefustraz, Brondir was named after the founder of Drelskrein clan, Brondir the undying, who is said to have been the first to rule nearly all of the island. The geography of the island is quite diverse with the midlands being mostly low mountain ranges and plateaus. These ranges are filled with forests and mostly uninhabited, though there are a few major cities like the Valker city that have historically used these forests to evade attack from other factions. Multiple rivers flow through these forests, mostly formed by the Ulker mountains, a range of 7 major mountains that is the only range that has snow. The most important of these is the Kittor River that flows by the Northfort city. The coastal regions are more plains and grasslands. These region are fertile with the river fed western coast being the bastion for agriculture in the island. The western coast mostly relies on fishing and tourism via it's amazing beaches. Multiple cities including the Capital Fehrmont City, the cities of Harton, Canichill, Petrin etc are located here,.

The government system of Jefustraz has broadly divided the law making powers among 3 basic entities, called the organs of the government. These organs include the Legislative, the Executive and the Judiciary. The Legislative consists of the House of General Representatives and Royal Representatives along with the Monarch and the speakers and are mostly indluged in making and passing of bills that have the potental to become good laws. The Executive consisting of the head of the government, the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister and the cabinet of ministers. Their job is to execute the laws made by Legislative and hence are answerable to the Legislative. The Judiciary, on the other hand, keeps in check whether the laws are being followed by the people of the mation as well as the other two organs. The Judiciary is completely separate from the Legislative and the Executive. They are completely impartial in their jurisdiction making the other two organs completely answerable to them.
