The Kefli Old Guard (KOG), are the remnants of fighters who remain loyal to the Democratic Republic of Keflistan, which feel during the 2008-2020 Second Kefli Civil War, under the leadership of the Kefli politician and military leader Damián Garner. Garner served as the minister of defense under the nationalist government.

The group exercised de facto control over the Lake Monroe region, which makes up portions of central western Eblil and central eastern Tecali, as well as rural areas throughout the eastern area of the country. The Old Guard constitutes the only holdouts of the nationalist one-party government created after the 1987 Keflistan Coup. The group calls for the removal of foreign forces, primarily Ibican, and the restoration of the Nationalist Party to power.

On January 19 2021, Garner—citing provisions of the 1988 Constitution of Keflistan—declared himself Acting President of the Democratic Republic of Keflistan from the base of operations in the Lake Monroe Region, and said that he would continue military operations against the Kefli Democratic Front from there.

History

Following the Fall of Kefli City, Loyalist forces, including then defense minister Garner, moved into the Lake Monroe Region, the only area of Keflistan not controlled by KDF forces, in order to create a new resistance front.

As of August 17, minor skirmishes had happened in retaliation for the arrest of local officials in Bellville that supported the group. Garner and his supporters called for supporters throughout Keflistan to rise up against the "Foreign Puppets" of the KDF.
